Portobelo Wesley Street is located in a quiet residential street in Kaiapoi, well away from the industrial area,motorway and any petrol stations. It consists of two buildings, one for the preschool, which caters for 3-5 year olds, and the second building is a separate cafe and group time area for the children. The preschool was once a private house, on a large section, which has been adapted to meet the needs of early childhood. Care in the design of the indoor environment enables teachers to provide cosy inviting areas that allow children to engage in sustained play and creativity. The outdoor area is a large natural space, with grass, trees, decking, a garden, fort, and plenty of space for exploration and activities such as ball skills, and bike and trike riding.
