Portobelo Avonhead opened in January 2007. It is located in a residential street in Avonhead. The building is deceptive from the road, it looks like a residential house but once inside it opens into a spacious, light and open pre-school. There is a separate cafe and sleep room. The outdoor environment consists of many moveable, natural-looking and engaging pieces of equipment.

There are lots of local parks and a library, which are explored often. We are also handy to the bus stop so trips are made into the central city to explore the museum, art gallery etc.
